
Moving to a new house is always a monumental task in the best of times, but it goes without saying that it has been a steeper hill to climb during lockdown. Due to unforeseen family circumstances, I have had to endure this over recent months, moving from my long-term home in Guildford to Putney in South-West London. The task in hand was further compounded by my requirements to find a property that would be suitable for my business as a music producer as well as a home.
Finding reputable was quite straightforward, which assured me that selling my existing property would not be an issue, however finding a suitable semi-detached home in London with enough space proved to be a lot harder. Due to my work in commercial music production, sound insulation and were a crucial factor both to insulate sensitive recording equipment from outside - , traffic sounds etc. Furthermore, I employed the services of in the renovation and construction process to prevent making enemies of my new neighbors with my music.
After 3 months of perseverance, I finally found a property that ticked all the boxes, and luckily, I found a great company called Red Box in London to complete the studio to my specifications. With my budget spent, the rest of the family home renovations were left up to me, though D.I.Y. is not my strong suit I am pleased with the results. It turns out that doing up a kitchen, bathroom, and a is most satisfying!
