The Business and Enterprise Registration Department (CBRD) was previously known as a division of companies under the auspices of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development. CBRD deals with corporate relations. It offers quality services to corporate sectors locally and internationally, ministries / ministries and the public in general. Corporate and Business Registration has the following main functions: Inclusion, registration and withdrawal of companies. Enforcement of legal requirements. Business registration f. Insolvency service g. (CBRIS) for the requirements of the Companies Act 2001 and the Trade Facilitation Act 2006. The latter Act provides for the possibility of operating an enterprise within three days of being entered in the Commercial Register. The Company Registration and Business Registration System (CBRIS) allows electronic filing of companies' registration applications and a national registration number. In addition, registered companies may also pay their annual registration fees through the system. The CBRIS Portal has been operational since August 2014. CBRIS allows government services to be more effective, while contributing to the vision of Mauritius moving towards the information age.
