As on 18th of April 2019, Certification Planner, which is drawing close to celebrating its anniversary, has completed an onsite training for the project managers of Wikwemikong Ontario Works. Certification Planner is a training platform that indulges in connecting working professionals to front-of-the-line training solutions. In the words of Suhaan Kkhaana: the CEO of CP, “I can’t think of a better way to close the year”.
Wikwemikong Ontario Works, which is associated with Wikwemikong Unceded Territory is responsible for delivering the provincial Ontario Works program in accordance with the Ontario Works Act, 1997. With the basic function as providing financial assistance and running employment support programs for the community, Wikwemikong Ontario Works run multiple financial assistance, employment support, community placement, informal child care and many more. With these many programs running side by side, the management felt the need to upskill the Project owners or the project managers.
Miss. Norma-Jean Dokum, the Executive Assistant to Ontario Works Administrator elaborated on the need for training: “The objective is very clear, there are a lot of projects running and we had to upskill the project managers and other employees working on various projects. We believe that the CAPM credential will be the best start to the process of developing the skill sets of our employees. After all, it is the established starting point in the upskilling journey”.
The CP team is quite excited by the association with Wikwemikong Ontario Works. With the potential of training over 200 employees and with the training of the first batch having been completed successfully things are looking bright for this alliance.
The training was led by Mr. Shailesh, who holds impressive training and industry experience. A veteran of the learning, Mr. Shailesh holds a master’s degree in Computer Science and Operations along with several certifications like PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, and DevOps. Having worked as a project manager for several years, Mr. Shailesh intrinsically becomes the best person to lead and direct the training.
On being asked about his experience with the training batch, Mr. Shailesh said, “The best part of being in adult learning is that you get to learn a lot from the participants. It has been a great experience with a very interactive group. The drive to learn was omnipotent during the sessions.”
The participants will be taking up the certification examination with PMI very soon and the Training team seems very confident about the participants clearing the examination. Mr. Shailesh commented, “We have covered all the knowledge areas and have addressed all the queries that came from the candidates. While taking up the examination is a necessity, the result remains clear in my view”. With several similar workshops lined up, CP is indeed driving Progress in the employee development spectrum.
