How WorldRankList collects, uses, shares and protects information — written in plain language, mapped to exactly what our platform does.

The short version. We collect what we need to run a fair ranking platform — your account and listing details, the reviews and enquiries you send, and basic engagement signals. We never sell your personal contact details, and no amount of data or money can buy a higher rank.
WorldRankList ("we", "us", "our") operates a verified business-ranking platform. Every business receives a single transparent WRL score (0–1000) calculated by an algorithm from real signals, and is ranked only against other businesses in the same city and category. This policy explains what information we handle when you browse the site, register an account, list a business, write a review, or send an enquiry.

We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies (local storage, pixels and device identifiers) for three distinct purposes. They are described separately below so you can see exactly what each one does.
These are essential for the site to function. Blocking them may prevent you from signing in or submitting forms, and they cannot be switched off from within the site.
We use Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager to understand how the site is used in aggregate — which pages are visited, how visitors arrive, and which features are worth improving. These set their own cookies and process data (including a truncated IP address) under Google's Privacy Policy. Analytics is not loaded on local development builds. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites with Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Some pages carry advertising served by Google AdSense and its partners, which lets us keep the rankings free to browse and free to be listed in. Advertising cookies are described in full in the next section.
WorldRankList is free to browse and free to be listed in. Advertising is how we pay for that, and it is deliberately kept separate from the rankings.
Advertising never affects rank. Our one governing rule is that rank is earned by the algorithm and can never be bought. Buying an ad on this site does not raise a business's WRL score, its position, or its visibility in any leaderboard. Paid placements that do exist — sponsored slots — sit outside the ranked list and are always labelled as sponsored.

If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland. We ask for your consent before any non-essential cookie — analytics or advertising — is set, using a consent banner the first time you visit. Until you consent, only the strictly-necessary cookies in section 3(a) are used, and advertising runs in non-personalised mode. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the Cookie settings link in the site footer, and withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.
Children. This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly request personalised advertising for anyone under the age of 16. See section 12.
Rankings are produced solely by our algorithm from genuine signals: review quality, real engagement (calls, WhatsApp, enquiries, website clicks, saves, shares and views), verified leads, verification status, profile completeness and freshness. We do this transparently so businesses understand exactly why they rank where they do. Importantly:
Business listings are public by their nature — listing details, the WRL score and rank, published reviews and aggregate ratings are visible to anyone and may be indexed by search engines and AI systems. Reviews appear under the display name you choose. Your account email, password and phone number are not shown publicly; enquiry details you send to a business are shared only with that business, not published.
We do not sell your personal contact details. We share information only as follows:
We keep account and listing information for as long as your account or listing is active, and engagement and ranking-history data for as long as it is useful to provide analytics and maintain ranking integrity. When you delete your account or listing, we remove or anonymise the associated personal data, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
WorldRankList is intended for businesses and adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy as the platform evolves. When we make material changes we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of WorldRankList after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
